Frequently Asked Questions
There are only 3 Holidays that we take off.
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Year’s Day
All other holidays we will run so go ahead and have your trash out like you normally would either the night before pick up or by 5am on your pick up day.
The only day we typically change if an observed holiday falls on your normal pick up day is the day in which the holiday falls on. No other days are affected during that week. Please check our website or check our facebook page (facebook.com/mcmurtrydisposal) for more information on our holiday schedule the closer it gets to an observed holiday.
Inclement Weather Policy:
We will make every effort we can to run our routes as scheduled. If Inclement weather comes, please go ahead and have your container out as you normally would on your pick up day to ensure you won’t be passed by. If we are not able to run due to inclement weather, please leave your trash out at the curb and we will be there just as soon as we can. Check back at our website or our facebook page for the latest information.
If we have to miss more than 1 or 2 days in a given week due to inclement weather preventing us from safely operating, we will collect 2 weeks worth of trash on your next pick up day for those Route Days we were unable to safely operate.
We have no control over the weather when it prevents us from operating. Our main focus when this happens is keeping our employees, our community, and our equipment safe during inclement weather. Given this information and the fact that we will take extra trash on your next pick up day means that there will not be a credit issued for service for us missing a week of service due to inclement weather.
- You are allowed the 95 gallon trash cart we provided along with up to (3) 13-gallon kitchen trash bags beside the cart.
Please only use our trash container. We are not responsible for damages to your own personal container if you choose to place it out next to the container we provide for the 3 additional bags that do not fit in our container.
- We recommend that you place your trash out at the curb for curbside service the evening before your actual pick-up day as we cannot guarantee what time the truck will come by from week to week as there are so many different factors that go into how the trucks are running each day.
This will ensure that your trash is picked up.
- If your trash is not out when the truck comes through your area then it will be picked up on your next scheduled pick-up day.
